Pet Travel Scheme

Cats, dogs & ferrets can all travel on the pet passport scheme. Your pet must have a microchip and be vaccinated against rabies. The vaccination can be done when your pet is 12 weeks of age or older. A blood sample is taken 30 days after the rabies vaccination to check that your pet is fully protected against rabies. A pet passport can then be issued by us once we have confirmation from the laboratory that you pet is protected. If you go on holiday abroad, your pet cannot come back into the UK for 6 months from the date that the blood sample was taken. Regular booster injections are required for all species.
